Windows 7 and Notify Plus

Postby Larbo » 2011-02-25, 21:02

Hi Goerge,

As I really like Notify Plus, I have putting off this question for fear of the answer.

Will Notify Plus work on Windows 7?

Hi Larry,

yes, NotifyPlus will work with Windows 7. You can run the setup to install it. You may replace the notify.ini with the one you are using now in order to keep your current events.

Best regards,
George

Hi George, that is great news, thank you.

I haven't used Windows 7 yet. Will it still have the same Admin only limitation (no Limited Users)?

Thanks again, Larry

I am not sure what you are referring to. Why don't you give it a try once you run Windows 7.

Hi all
the current download now also installs in Windows 7 64bit. The program itself is not 64bit but works in that environment.
Best regards,
George

Hi George, I am back! Still loving this program. The startup folder shortcut in Win7 64-bit does not seem to work ("C:\Program Files (x86)\NotifyPlus\Notify.exe" /c). It did work on my 32-bit computer. Any suggestions? Thanks! Lar

Hi Larbo
I do not have a Win7 computer anymore. But I just installed Notify Plus on a Win 8.1 64bit computer and it all works fine still.
Remember that the Startup link only launches Notify Plus if there is an event to report, e.g. today. I entered a simple event for today, saved it and the Startup link opened up fine.
Do you have an event to report? Do you get an error message?
Best regards,
George

Right you are!! Thanks. It was just bad luck that there happened to be nothing on the calendar!
