User Registration problem...

Post by dietrich » 2008-11-13, 18:05

Dear,

After finally getting everything installed on a Windows 2003 SBS server (php, SQL and teamcal), I am still with a bit of a problem. However and logically, the same software runs smoothly on a linux machine, sadly I need to run it on the Windows one...

All database work runs well, except for the most vital one: the adding or the registration of a new user. When trying to create a new user, using the registration wizzard or the administrator drop down menu, I get the following error:

Error: A problem was encountered while executing this query:

INSERT INTO `my_tc_users` (`username`,`password`,`firstname`,`lastname`,`title`,`position`,`group`,`phone`,
`mobile`,`email`,`notify`,`notify_group`,`status`,`usertype`,`ut_group`,`privileges`,
`bad_logins`,`bad_logins_start`,`last_pw_change`,`birthday`,`idnumber`,`last_login`,
`custom1`,`custom2`,`custom3`,`custom4`,`custom5`,`customFree`,`customPopup`) VALUES (===all the values come here===)

Error: Fatal database error!

I've ran trrough the database entries and the names a dozen times, however everything that should be there is there... It is just not responding. The priviedges of the database user are also working. It can add values in other places, it just can't seem to add users to the system.

Anybody else have experience with this problem?

Thank you in advance,

Kind regards,

Dietrich

Hi Dietrich,
can you paste the complete SQL statement here that fails (incl. the values)? That will make it easier to troubleshoot.

Hi Dietrich,

I ran this exact statement against a TeamCal Pro database, directly from within phpMyAdmin. It finished successfully: Image

I suggest you use phpMyAdmin yourself and run the SQL statement there. phpMyAdmin usually gives more speaking error messages. It might give you a better grip on what went wrong.

Hey Dietrich,

I have the same problem,
I think in my case the problem is the combination of Win 2003 Server64 and MYSQL 5.1.25 64bit

My solution:
change in DB my_tc_users:

- last_pw_change "DATETIME" to "varchar30"
- birthday "DATE" to "varchar30"
- last_login "DATETIME" to "varchar30"

it´s a workaround, but im my case it works!

greetings
Ingozilla

Well i had the same problem and your modifications solved my authentifications' problems too !

Maybe this problem appears when the date.timezone setting in php is informed.

Anyway the Ingozilla solution worked for me ...

For information here's my configuration :

TCPro 3.2
PHP :5.2.13
